For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Art Classes for Kids will host its ART CAMP series in person this summer. Created by beloved Las Vegas artist and teacher Kim Bavington, ART CAMP teaches young artists lessons in art history as well as fundamentals of drawing, painting and sculpting in an enthusiastic environment. With camps in Summerlin and Downtown Las Vegas available this year for children ages five to 12 as well as a special Teen Camp session for ages 12 to 14, participants can select the program best suited for their schedule this June and July.
“We are so excited to be back in person for ART CAMP this year,” said Bavington. “After two years of hosting classes virtually, we are thrilled to work with our students face to face to help them grow their skills and bolster their confidence.”
At this year’s ART CAMP, kids will create 10 projects, including drawing, sculpting with clay, collage making, sculpting with recyclables, printmaking, watercolor and acrylic painting. In addition, students will have the opportunity to present their works of art in an Art Show at the end of their final day of camp.
Each Art Camp session is five half days from Monday through Friday. Participants can choose from morning sessions (8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.) or afternoon sessions (1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
